Historic State Visit from Denmark at KTH Royal Institute of Technology - Novatron Fusion Group among selected companies

Yesterday marked the first day of the two-day State Visit by The King and Queen of Denmark State Visit to Sweden at the invitation of His Majesty The King of Sweden.

The afternoon program concluded with a visit to KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and a display of selected innovations and companies – one was Novatron Fusion Group.

The State Visit in Sweden is King Frederik X’s first following his accession to the throne in January this year, and the first incoming State Visit from Denmark since 1985.

Yesterday the royal guests were accompanied by Vice-prime Minister and Minister of Defence Troels Lund Poulsen, Minister for Foreign Affairs Lars Løkke Rasmussen, Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs Morten Bødskov and Minister for Taxation Jeppe Bruus.

Sweden’s Government was represented by Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, Minister for Energy, Business and Industry and Deputy Prime Minister Ebba Busch, Minister for Foreign Affairs Tobias Billström, Minister for Schools Lotta Edholm, Minister for Defence Pål Jonson, Minister for EU Affairs Jessika Roswall and Minister for Culture Parisa Liljestrand. The afternoon meetings were completed with the Speaker of the Riksdag and Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.

Royal Visit at KTH Royal Institute of Technology

After the afternoon meetings followed a visit to KTH Royal Institute of Technology, one of Europe's leading technical and engineering universities. The welcoming party included KTH Royal Institute of Technology President Anders Söderholm, Minister for Schools Lotta Edholm and Denmark’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Lars Løkke Rasmussen. This was also as part of a broader State Visit strengthening bilateral relations across foreign, security and defence policy, as well as innovation and research.

In a panel discussion on the role of space exploration and technology for a sustainable future, The King and Queen of Sweden and the Danish King and Queen meet with Swedish astronauts Christer Fuglesang and Marcus Wandt and Danish astronaut Andreas Mogensen.

Alongside the selected participants and companies, Novatron Fusion Group’s Inventor and Chief Technology Officer Jan Jäderberg, and Physicist Katarina Bendtz had the pleasure of talking to the Queen of Denmark and the Queen of Sweden on the topic of fusion energy.

Both seemed genuinely interested in the topic and we as a company are grateful for the time and questions asked and to showcase the ongoing preparations to launch its first official test facility – the N1 – at the world-renowned site.

It comes after engineers at Novatron Fusion Group recently completed a complex multi-system integration project to create plasma, marking a Scandinavian first and raising ambitions for the Nordics’ fusion energy sector. Read more about it here.
