Novatron Fusion Group Strengthens European Leadership at No.10 Downing Street, London

Novatron Fusion Group is honoured to have participated in the recent Fusion Innovation Reception, held at the official residence of the UK Prime Minister, Number 10 Downing Street, London.

The landmark event saw our Group CEO Peter Roos joined by fellow representatives from private fusion companies, investors, and key figures from the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) for an evening focused on advancing the commercialisation of fusion energy.

Held on the eve of the FusionX conference, it offered a unique opportunity for industry leaders and policymakers to connect and align around the future of fusion. The event was hosted by the UK Government and featured insightful remarks from Kerry McCarthy, Minister for Climate at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. Her address reaffirmed the UK’s long-term commitment to fusion not only as a solution for energy security and sustainability but also as a powerful driver of scientific and industrial innovation.

Representing the growing momentum within the private sector, Novatron Fusion Group took this opportunity to underscore its role as a key player at the forefront of Europe’s fusion ambitions. Our continued partnership with the UKAEA is a testament to the importance of international collaboration—especially between Sweden and the UK—in accelerating the next generation of energy technologies.

Peter Roos, CEO, Novatron Fusion Group said: "Fusion is no longer just a scientific aspiration—it’s becoming a strategic industry. Our presence at Downing Street reflects the growing recognition that European leadership in fusion will be built through collaboration, innovation, and bold ambition. The momentum we’re seeing in the UK, driven by the world-renowned UK Atomic Energy Authority and government support, is a clear signal that the fusion era is approaching. At Novatron Fusion Group, we are proud to be at the forefront of this transformation, working alongside leading institutions to bring fusion energy to reality.”

With its distinguished history and atmosphere, Downing Street provided a fitting venue for a conversation rooted in both tradition and future-forward thinking. Light-hearted yet thought-provoking remarks from UKAEA’s Tim Bestwick and Professor Ian Chapman added depth and inspiration to the evening, echoing the collective recognition that the technical challenges of fusion are also gateways to new economic opportunities, technological breakthroughs, and cross-sector value creation.

The UK remains a global leader in fusion development, from its legacy with the Joint European Torus (JET) to its future-focused STEP (Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production) program, which aims to deliver a prototype fusion power plant by 2040. Novatron Fusion Group is proud to contribute to this momentum, offering a novel and scalable fusion concept designed to accelerate the path toward clean, abundant energy.

As the fusion community reconvened for the FusionX conference the following day, the spirit of optimism and urgency carried forward. Novatron Fusion Group remains committed to leading Europe’s charge toward a fusion-powered future—through innovation, partnership, and a clear vision of what’s possible.
